Last
year, a friend and I were surfing the net for her kids Halloween
costume. I was astonished at how fast most of the popular sizes and
styles sold out. Even the less popular costume themes were selling out
of sizes.
This October will be a first for me. It will
be my first year to have a son that I can dress up in a fun Halloween
costume. I remembered when my friend and I were looking for a Halloween
costume, and was determined to get a jump start on the crowd. My
inexperience with the Halloween process showed, as I thought the local
stores might be a better option. For weeks, I had been looking forward
to all the Halloween stocks going on sale. Finally, they had arrived!
But, I knew they would go fast. I had already seen the building buzz
around this years’ Halloween, and noticed the other mothers asking when
the Halloween stocks would arrive.
I went to my local
Wal-Mart as soon as the costumes hit the shelf. The lack of styles,
sizes, and themes surprised me. None of the costumes fit what I was
looking for, and the crowds of people made it hard to even look through
the options. All of the costumes were tightly displayed on just one
isle. Disappointed, but still optimistic, I went to another store.
Again, I found the same crowd of shoppers, tight display, and lack of
options. I spent the next month going from store to store. Then, it
dawned on me- “Why am I fighting crowds of people, when I could find a
costume online?”
I was afraid that I had waited too late
,and the popular sizes and styles would be sold out. My excitement
resurfaced, as I found a web site with a multitude of choices and
sizes. Not only could I find the perfect costume for my little boy, but
I could find the perfect costume for me too. The shipping was free on
orders over $65.00. So, it wouldn’t be any more expensive to buy the
costume online. I loved that I could search by the themes that I was
interested in, and didn’t have to sift through unwanted costumes. Most
of the costumes were already substainally discounted, but still had
many sizes to choose from.
It took me fifteen minutes to
